Philanthropy

From the heart, for the heart

RDG

Red Dress Gala

The Red Dress Gala is Alpha Phi’s biggest, annual philanthropic event, which is held during our Fall semester! The money raised from the Red Dress Gala benefits the Alpha Phi Foundation. Our families, friends and alumnae are invited to enjoy this wonderful evening hosted at a formal venue. The night includes: a delicious dinner, speeches from our sisters who have a personal connection to our philanthropy, a silent auction, raffle baskets, and dancing! Our 2018 Red Dress Gala raised over $11,000 for the Alpha Phi Foundation in just one night!

Heart Walk

This past Spring semester the Epsilon Kappa chapter hosted our very first Move Your Phi't Heart Walk! With the help from alumnae, family, friends, and other Greek Organizations, we completed a full mile around the track, played fun games like water balloon toss and dizzy bat, ate delicious food, spent time with our family members and friends. As we moved our feet and enjoyed the day, we raised awareness and a total of $1,708 for the Alpha Phi Foundation.

Hoops for Heart

Hoops for Heart is our annual basketball tournament that is open for West Chester University students to test their skills and raise money/awareness for The Alpha Phi Foundation! We have snacks, music, and a whole bunch of basketball - both men and women's teams. It is one of the most fun ways for our sisters to get the West Chester University community together to raise money for a good cause. In the 2019 Tournament, we raised over $2,000, and provided the winning teams with money to donate to a Philanthropy of their choice.

Community Service

Alpha Phi – Epsilon Kappa values community service and making a difference within our neighboring areas. This year we held "Give What You Can" coffee stands to raise money towards making the teddy bears for children in the cardiac units at DuPont Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital. We also held an Alpha Phi Phood Drive and donated 300+ cans to our local food shelter! In addition, we also made blankets for Martin Luther King's Day of Service and participate monthly in West Chester Univesity’s Adopt-A-Block Program! We love giving back to our community, which has given so much to our chapter!
